Building Attributes for the Future

A few months ago, I read in the Exchange Everyday newsletter a list of attributes that employers are looking for when interviewing candidates. We can help kids begin to develop these attributes in the early years.

INNOVATION

TEAMWORK

DECISION-MAKING

LEADERSHIP

TENACITY

ATTENTION TO DETAILS

EMOTIONAL IQ

FLEXIBILITY

Often the argument for pushing down academics is that kids will need it later. It's best to leave many things for later because that's when it's developmentally appropriate. But play and exploration allows us to build some attributes that kids will need later.

How does your classroom encourage kids to build tenacity or flexibility or innovation? Play!
