Yesterday I posted about using real tools and doing real work. A few weeks ago we did some real work.
A dishpan with water, a drying rack, towels, and a dish rag gave us the opportunity to wash our dishes.
We had a great time doing this real work.
In the time of automatic dishwashers, kids may not have seen or had opportunity to wash dishes by hand. Yet in preschool classes they can experience this real work. And, to them, it's an opportunity to play and pour water. And take care of the resources in our room. Lots of learning and fun wrapped up in real work.
Maybe one day their spouses will thank us. :)
