We Are Writers

I love seeing the kids' writing this time of year. They have mastered using the pencils/markers/pens and the mechanics of writing. Now they can use writing as a tool.

They make cards to go with gifts...

Write books to express their own ideas...

Jot captions to the pictures they draw...

Incorporate writing in their paintings...

And make letters as fancy as they want.

All those scribbles and wonky letters...all those drawings...all that working with play dough and developing finger muscles...yield meaningful writing. I love this time of year.
